Joey is a Ph.D. student in Medical Informatics at UCLA. Her research focuses on developing reinforcement learning models to optimize diagnostic workups for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. Her broader research interests lie in precision medicine, particularly the interactions among clinical, genomic, and environmental factors. She is co-advised by Sriram Sankararaman in Computer Science and conducts genomics research in his lab. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Handong Global University and her master’s degree from KAIST. In her free time, Joey enjoys watching videos of her French bulldog, Luccu (currently in Korea), water activities, and learning to dance.
